On Feb 18, 2011, Help actually paid a visit to Chung Por Por who broke her leg in an accident. We learned more about how the accident happened and explained to her in what way she could claim his rights. After the visit, Help Actually volunteers followed up Chung Por Por’s case and provided her with a power wheelchair.

Chung Por Por lives alone. She broke her left leg in a car accident in 2004, however a lack of awareness to claim her rights at that time led to Chung Por Por just missed the claim deadline. In 2009, she got a back injury in another accident. Although she is among social security group, related departments didn’t agree that a power wheelchair was a necessity to her so they didn’t provide one to Chung Por Por.

The two accidents made her to suffer both physically and psychologically. Aside from movement difficulties, she also lost the confidence in communicating with others, causing her to be almost isolated from the outside world. In view of this, Help Actually bought Chung Por Por a power wheelchair on March 22, 2011, hoping to solve her problem in disability and providing her with more chances to join community activities which will allow her to make more friends. By doing so, we do hope that Chung Por Por’s life will be full of joy and love again.
