Your Rights After a Traffic Accident

In Hong Kong, traffic accidents occur almost daily. When driver negligence causes innocent citizens to suffer physical injuries, fatalities, financial burdens, and loss of time, or leads to psychological distress that disrupts their daily lives, victims have the right to seek compensation. They can pursue claims for all losses incurred in the accident against the negligent driver, the vehicle owner, or their respective insurance companies.

Your Rights After a Work-Related Injury

Under the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance, employers are legally required to take out employees’ compensation insurance for all full-time and part-time employees. If an employee sustains a work-related injury during the course of their employment, they are entitled by law to claim compensation, which generally includes:

For personal injury, death, or property damage caused by third-party negligence, victims have the right to seek compensation from the individuals or organizations bearing civil liability (such as property management companies, incorporated owners, or property owners). This covers a wide range of non-work-related accidents. To pursue a successful claim, it is necessary to establish a clear causal link between the negligent act and the resulting damages. Therefore, we strongly advise victims to gather evidence as soon as possible after the incident and file their claims within the statutory limitation period.
